Dear Debate Team,

              You are cordially invited to the 2019 CrossTown Debate Tournament which will be held this year at Grand Forks Red River on Saturday, December 7, starting with registration at 7:30 and rounds will begin at 8:15 AM.

We will be offering Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum debate and will have all of the divisions that numbers allow.  The topics will be the Nov/Dec topic for each LD and PF listed on speechanddebate.org

Registration: is due by Friday, Nov. 29^th  WE KNOW THIS IS
THE FRIDAY OF THANKSGIVING BREAK, BUT WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO PLAN FOR JUDGES,
ETC. BECAUSE OF THIS YOU CAN MAKE CHANGES WITHOUT PENALTY UNTIL 5:00 PM ON MONDAY, 2nd

an email to hydeg@fargo.k12.nd.us as Gayle Hyde will act as the tournament manager.

We are going to make online ballots an option for judges. Please provide an email address for each of your judges linked to a Tabroom account if possible. We will certainly still allow paper ballots, but we are going to provide the ability for you to do an online ballot.

You will receive an invoice and code sheet after registration.

Fees will be assessed on Monday, Nov. 26th. Changes after that time will be expected to be included in your fees and judging requirements will be expected to be fulfilled.

Additional hired judges are limited and we encourage you to bring your judges.

            Please be on time, as we have to secure judges, food, trophies etc… 

Judging: Teams will need to cover one judge for every three LD or PF teams. Be aware that if you take advantage of one judge for every three debaters/teams, your judges will judge nearly every round. If you would like rounds off, you will need to supply a judge for each 2 debaters/teams. All judges must be certified through the NDHSAA.  

Fees are as follows:

                         $10.00 per LD debater

                         $15.00 per PF

                         $75.00 per hired judge

Concessions: Concessions will be available throughout the tournament.
