2020 Charger Challenge Invitational Tournament

 We are pleased to invite any school to join us for a weekend of speech, debate, 

& interpretation competition ... plus a lot of fun!

 

The 5th Annual CHARGER CHALLENGE INVITATIONAL will offer the following events:  

DEBATE EVENTS: . Policy; Varsity & Novice Lincoln-Douglas; Varsity & Novice Public Forum; Congressional Debate. Depending on the number of entries, the tournament director reserves the right to combine novice and varsity sections.

 

BIG QUESTIONS DEBATE: We are excited to announce that we will be hosting Big Questions debate in concurrence with the Charger Challenge. Please see the Big Questions Debate tab for specific information.

Schools are allowed up to 6 entries in Congressional Debate. 

Students entering a debate event may only enter 1 Flight A Event.

SPEECH EVENTS:  Depending on the number of entries, the tournament director reserves the right to combine novice and varsity sections.

Varsity Prose Interpretation (VPR)
Novice Prose Interpretation (NPR)
Dramatic Interpretation (DI)
Original Oratory (OO)
Duet Acting (DA)
Program Oral Interpretation (POI)

FLIGHT B EVENTS:

Varsity Extemporaneous Speaking (VEXT)
Novice Extemporaneous Speaking (NEXT)
Varsity Poetry Interpretation (VPO)
Novice Poetry Interpretation (NPO)
Informative Speaking (INFO)
Duo Interpretation (DI)
Humorous Interpretation (HI)
Declamation (DEC) 9th &10th graders only 

 

Schools are allowed up to 6 entries per event 

A waiting list will also be provided if the host school can accommodate more entries.

 

Rules, tournament schedules, contact numbers and addresses, hotel information, and directions to the Oxford High School Campus are included on this website.  We hope you will make plans to attend our tournament for an exciting weekend of speech competition.
