This tournament will offer varsity policy and novice policy. Subject to interest, the tournament will also offer Lincoln Douglas and public forum. This tournament is open to any school in the state of Wisconsin. Students can debate as mavericks (by themselves) and win.

WE WILL NOT BE USING THE COMMONS / CAFETERIA FOR THIS TOURNAMENT

TEAMS SHOULD GATHER IN THE AREA OUTSIDE THE LIBRARY ON THE SECOND FLOOR.

Judge Obligations:

1 judge per 2 VCX/NCX/LD/PF entries or fraction thereof.

1 judge may cover 1 LD and 1 PF entry. We will assume the judge can judge both LD and PF unless specified otherwise.

Registration:

The registration deadline is WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH AT 11:30 PM. Fees are locked as of September 18th at 11:30 pm. Nuisance and/or drop fees will apply to any changes made after this time.

You are able to change names and drop entries until Friday, September 20th at 11:30 PM.

If you do not bring the required number of judges, the tournament reserves the right to charge you $100 per missing judge or de-register your teams until you have judges to cover your judge obligation. We will do our best to have extra judges, but you should expect few - if any - extra judges available.

A $30 nuisance fee will be assessed for any drop or add after the registration deadline. A $50 judge fee will be assessed for any judge who fails to show for a round.

Non-Member Schools: $40 / entry

Member Schools:

MPS Schools: Free
Non-MPS Public School: $15 / entry
Private School: $25 / entry

Food:

Lunch will be provided for both students and judges. Lunch is free to MDL member schools. Please communicate any dietary restrictions as soon as possible.

Debate Divisions

Novice Policy will follow the WDCA Standing Rules for novice policy debate, including all novice packet restrictions.

Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum will debate the September / October topic.

Lunch:  12:30 - 1:30

PF/LD:

Round 1:  8:30

Round 2:  9:30

Round 3:  10:30

Round 4:  11:30

Lunch:  12:30 - 1:30

Round 5:  1:30

Awards:  3:00

MUHS Parking & Drop-Off:

The school entrance is at 3406 W. Michigan Street. Enter through the glass doors on the circle drive. Entry will not be permitted at any other doors.

Buses:

Drop off on Michigan Street between 33rd and 34th Streets.

Buses should NOT enter the circle drive or parking lot adjacent to the building. The bus parking lot is the lot on the southwest corner of 34th Street and Michigan Street. Enter the parking lot on Michigan between 34th and 35th Streets.

Cars & Vans:

Drop off on Michigan Street between 33rd and 34th Streets, or park in the faculty / staff parking lot (access on 33rd Street between Michigan Street and Wisconsin Street).
