Hello all,

The New York City Urban Debate League invites all female-identifying coaches and judges to join us on October 27th, 2018 for a full day of debate and workshopping. This event will include two to three rounds of debate as well as workshopping and discussion events for participants at all levels.

The Girls Debate League is both a competitive debate league and a holistic program of debate education that seeks to challenge stereotypes and sexism within the traditional debate community and to provide a supportive network for female debaters and coaches. We will offer a modified Parliamentary format of debate. All Parli topics will be announced during the event briefing. 

Teams and coaches should arrive at the tournament site (85 Broad Street) between 8:30 and 9. Breakfast and lunch for this event will be provided.

Please note that all debaters must complete the following permission slip in order to participate.

While male and other non-female debaters are welcome to judge and to join the UDL for our regularly scheduled tournaments and workshops, this event is specifically designed for female-identifying debaters.
