The Princeton Classic

2018 — Princeton, NJ/US

Dear Speech and Debate Coach,

On behalf of the Princeton Debate Panel, it is our honor to invite you and your Speech & Debate team to the 21stnd Annual Princeton Classic. The tournament will be held from Friday, November 30th, 2018 to Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 and will consist of competition in Novice and Varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Congressional Debate, Public Forum Debate, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Oral Interpretation, Oratory, and Extemporaneous Speaking. There will be five preliminary rounds for the Speech events, six for Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and seven for Public Forum Debate. All finalists in Congress, semi-finalists in Varsity Lincoln-Douglas, octa-finalists in Public Forum, and elimination-round participants in Speech will earn a bid to the University of Kentucky Tournament of Champions.

Joining us as Tab Director is Jim Menick of Hendrick Hudson (NY), who, along with Sheryl Kaczmarek of Lexington (MA), will also run LD tab.  Dario Camara of Western (FL), Carol Cecil of Braddock (FL), and Martin Page of Delbarton (NJ) will run the Public Forum tab; Brother John McGrory of Chaminade (NY) and John Cierpial of Union Catholic (NJ) will run the Congress tab, and Joe Vaughan of Scarsdale (NY), Lydia Esslinger of Syosset (NY), and Barbara Giuliano of St. Joseph’s Prep (PA) will run the Speech tab.

To make this process as fair as possible, we will place all registered entries on the waitlist which we will clear two weeks after registration opens. Every eligible school will be awarded an equal number of slots determined based on our available space. This means that we are not operating on a first come, first served basis.

Hopefully our invitation packet should answer any questions you might have but if not, please e-mail us at princetonclassic2018@gmail.com. We are looking forward to seeing you all this November!

Best regards,
