The Woodland Speech and Debate Team invites you to attend our first

“Warrior Invitational” on October 27^t, 2018.

We would respectfully request that you send an email letting us know you intend to compete and a “guesstimate” of how many students you might bring (just for planning purposes) by Friday, Sept.  28^th, to coach Margaret Hall at (margareth1@wcs.edu).

We will be following NSDA rules for Middle Schools (with the exception of Pantomime and Audition Monologue which will use TN rules). Competitors will be allowed to TRIPLE enter. Registration fees are $7 per entry and $14 for partnered categories.  Schools must provide ONE judge for every 6 entries. High School juniors or seniors with tournament experience are also welcome to judge.  Deadline to enter is Wednesday, Oct. 24th at 4:00PM CDT. Drops/Adds after this time will be charged the entry fee plus $7 per drop or add. Missing judge slots will incur a $30 charge. Checks should be made out to Woodland Middle School (WMS) and mailed early or brought on the day of the tournament for registration.

We promise to have a “Spooktacular” judge/coach hospitality lounge featuring breakfast, coffee/tea, snacks/drinks all day and a luscious lunch!

Concessions with breakfast items and lunch (pizza) will be available for purchase at minimal costs all for competitors/visitors. Vegetarian lunch choices will be available by request (let us know an approximate number). Because this is a fundraiser, we ask that you not bring in outside food or drinks.

Awards will be given to the top 6 finalists in each category, and sweepstakes trophies to the top 3 teams. The will be a special trophy for the team with the highest percentage of points per team member (or something like this that means a small team that did really well) dedicated in the Memory of former coach Jim Jenkins.
