Event Description:

Programmed Poetry: Each contestant is handed a program of poetry prepared by the tournament staff. The material is read from the manuscript with only a short preparation time. Lyrics should be read as poetry; no singing is permitted. Selections from the following poets will be used in this category: Gwendolyn Brooks, Billy Collins, and lyrics performed by Bruce Springsteen.
