Event Description:

  • Extemporaneous Speaking (US and International) (USX / IX) *NSDA

Speaker will draw three topics and choose one topic to present. Speaker will have 30 minutes to prepare speech and must prepare speech in Extemp prep room. *Speaker will be present and ready to deliver speech within 30 minute prep time. Topic slip must be given to judge prior to speech delivery. Speaker may NOT use any notes or note card during speech presentation. Movement is optional. Internet access is NOT allowed in speech prep. Students may use a computer with downloaded files, but may not use internet for research.

 

 

Time limit: 7 minutes with a 30 second grace period.  There is no time minimum.
