Event Description:
A high school student is eligible for Novice PF or LD at this tournament if they are in the 9th or 10th grade and this is their first-ever season of Speech and Debate competition (in any event, at any level). The tournament's policy is designed to protect first-year high school debaters getting started in the activity. Former Middle School debaters belong in the JV division.
Coaches should contact the tournament about any individual students who might not fit the letter of this definition but you feel belong in the Novice division. Any entries at any point found to be in violation of these rules will be disqualified immediately at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
