Middle School Congressional Debate
Event Description:
This is a Middle School division for your debaters. Only students in the grades 6th through 8th grade are eligible for this division. Three preliminary sessions will be held with chambers ranging from 15-20 students. Approximately one-third of students will advance to the Semifinal Session with chambers ranging from 12-20. We will advance 16 students to the Final Session of Congressional Debate. No legislation will be submitted by participating schools. The tournament will provide legislation one month prior to the tournament. Each school will be allowed up to 16 entries. We will entertain requests for additional teams as space permits.
