Event Description:

Mixed Extemporaneous Speaking (EXT) is a seven-minute speech event (with a 30-second grace period) that combines both domestic and international topics. Students are given 30 minutes to prepare a speech in response to one of three questions covering national and global current events. During prep time, students may consult research materials, and internet use is permitted. Each speech is delivered from memory without notes.
