Event Description:

Preparation time is 30 minutes.

Time is 7 minutes with a 30 second grace period.

In Extemporaneous Speaking, students arepresented with a choice of three questions related tocurrent events and, in 30 minutes, prepare aseven-minute speech answering the selected question.Students may consult articles and evidence they gatherprior to the contest. Topics range from political matters toeconomic concerns to foreign policy. The speech is delivered from memory.
