Event Description:
A novice is defined as a first year competitor in any forensics events.
5-7 minute individual performance sharing a poem, using the voice, facial expression and simple gestures. Emphasis is on vocal control, eye contact, and showing understanding through interpretation. The performance should be presented from a notebook and the script should be written in a lyrical style. The literature does not have to rhyme, but needs to be recognized as poetry. Movement below the waist should be minimal.
