Event Description:
The contestant shall perform from memory a published selection of some literary merit. While singing is permitted,
it should not be excessive or dominate the performance. The author and source of the selection shall be stated in a
brief introduction. Adaptations shall be made for the purpose of continuity only. Contestants may not use props,
costumes, or theatrical makeup of any kind. Movement by the performer shall be limited to approximately three
feet in any direction from the starting point. The performer may move within that radius as frequently as possible.
