Pro/Con Challenge

Event Description:

Students are to make a video submission that contains TWO speeches, an affirmative and a negative, on one of the following September/October NSDA Debate Topics:

LD: Resolved: The United States ought to implement a single-payer universal healthcare system.

PF: Resolved: The United States Federal Government should substantially increase its investment in high-speed rail.

Policy: The United States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity.

The video should contain both speeches given consecutively WITHOUT any editing. Videos that are made with two separate videos put together will be ranked lower than other videos regardless of speakers performance.

Ideally each speech would be about 3-5 minutes, but this is not a requirement. The length of the TOTAL video can not exceed 10 minutes, plus a 30 second grace period.

Judges should leave and save comments for each individual separately. Please make sure to leave something. You should enter your decision first and then you can update or put in comments later if needed or type as you go.
