Event Description:
In extemporaneous, students choose ONE of the four questions below and give the speech over that question. The questions:
- Should the United States government make public post-secondary education free to all qualifying students?
- Can the Federal Reserve control inflation without causing a painful recession?
- What more should developed countries do to fight climate change?
- Is China's economy at risk of stagnant growth or shrinkage in the next decade?
Time limit: There is no minimum- Maximum time limit is 7 minutes with a 30 second grace period. Anyone that goes over time can not receive a 1st place in the round or a 30 point speaker rating.
