WolfCub Invitational
2023 — Claremont, CA/US
Middle Wolfcub Parli
Event Description:
We will use our own unique hybrid of CHSSA and MSPDP Parliamentary formats. Teams may consist of either 2 or 3 debaters addressing a mix of prepared and spontaneous rounds.
Prep: Topics for the prepared rounds are released ahead of time, along with topic areas for the spontaneous rounds. Spontaneous round resolutions will be released 20 minutes prior to the round. During the 20 minutes of preparation time, students may consult the internet, and prep with their team and coaches.
Internet: During the round, debaters may only consult their notes and may not access the internet other than what is required to conduct the debate.
Structure: The first speech on each side is a constructive and should be used to present the case for/against the resolution. The Neg should also use its constructive to respond to the Aff case. The last two speeches should not contain any new arguments but instead should be used to make refutations and summarize the round. The very last Aff speech is not allowed any NEW refutations or arguments unless addressing a new response made by the Neg in their last speech.
Points of Information (POI): Points of Information may be requested at any time during the constructive speeches.
