YOU’RE ON THE AIR!
COMPETITIVE SPEECH THAT INTEGRATES DEBATE, PLATFORM SPEAKING, LIMITED PREP, ORIGINAL ORATORY, HUMOROUS AND DRAMATIC INTERPRETATION.
CREATE YOUR OWN, ORIGINAL RADIO SHOW
3 divisions: Elementary/ Middle School/High School
YOUR RADIO SHOW MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING THREE REQUIREMENTS:
--Call letters with a poster or decorated sign. Example: K109/ KLUV/KTEEN. Use
rhythmic pronunciation or alliteration
--At least two announcers or radio hosts. Make them different by using Modulation, Breathing
Pitch, Tone, Volume, Rhythm, Accents
--Two headline news bulletins
--5 minute time limit with 30 second grace period
--Your show must include at least 4 of the following:
Sports
Weather
Music
Call-in quizzes with prizes
On-the-spot reporting
Commercials
Slogan
Guest star
Famous personality endorsing a commercial product
News magazine gossip
--Your radio show can be unique by choosing a different genre or style:

Characters from different works of literature
