Judging Policy

Judging Policy:

Each School Judge is committed 1 round beyond the elimination of their last team. This includes schools eliminated on Saturday night.

3 prelim rounds owed per Policy entry.

3 prelim rounds owed per LD entry.

2 prelim rounds owed per PFD entry.

All Judges must have linked Tabroom.com accounts with a Paradigm before teams will be let off the waitlist.

Any school judge who fails to appear for or refuses to render a Win and a Loss will have the school they are associated with fined $50.

We ask that all coaches attending the tournament make themselves available to judge. All coaches and sponsors will be expected to be available to judge the first elimination round.

Please recruit qualified judges. Judges lacking a paradigm in the Policy debate divisions will not be considered qualified and your teams will NOT be allowed to compete.

We will use mutually preferred judging in the Policy and Lincoln Douglas divisions. PFD will use random placement. We will place judges in Varsity divisions before Novice.

3^rd and 4^th year high school students may judge the novice divisions. Please indicate they are student judges when signing them up. We will then strike them from the Varsity event.

Community Judges will be used in the PFD division. We will try to place qualified judges here first.  

Orally disclosed decisions are encouraged. W/L results will be posted immediately after each debate.
