East Iowa District Qualifier

for the 2022 National Tournament

Congress Schedule

 A one-day District Congress should allow at least ten minutes per student in the chamber per session. We will hold the same amount for Senate and House, even if there are a different number of students.

A.  Election of a presiding officer

B.  New seating chart

C.  Resetting of precedence/recency

D.  New legislation that has not been debated in a previous session at the tournament.

Our anticipated schedule is listed below:

Saturday, January 29, 2021

Registration     8:45am - 9:15am

Session 1        9:30am - 12:10 pm (ensure at least 10 minutes per student is allowed) 

Lunch              12:15 pm - 1:00pm

Break to final session for house or 2nd session if 16 students or less, 2nd session for Senate

                      1:15pm - 3:55 pm (ensure at least 10 minutes per student is allowed) 

Awards             4:30 pm
