Tournament Information

EVENT NOTES

Students may enter only one extemporaneous speaking event.

Impromptu will have one minute to draw, one minute to choose a topic, and 5 minutes to speak.

All other events will operate using TFA rules found at txfa.org 

Lincoln-Douglas debate will use the NSDA topic for January and February.

Cross-Examination debate will use the NSDA Topic.

Public Forum debate will use the January topic.

A novice is defined as anyone who has not competed in high school speech/debate prior to this school year. 

Brackets will not be broken in debate events.

JUDGING NOTES

Asynchronous IE judges must be available Thursday.

Congress judges must be available Friday.

Synchronous IE judges must be available Saturday.

Debate judges must be available through the school's commitment.

Panels will be used in elimination rounds whenever possible.

A single person may cover multiple divisions not held on the same day.

IE Judges - $150

Congress Judges - $150

Debate Judges - $35/round 

Drops after 5pm Jan. 4 - Entry Fee + $25

No Show Judge Fine - $50/occurrence
