The Coppell Classic

TFA/NIETOC Swing Tournaments

Dear Colleagues and Competitors,

The Coppell High School Speech and Debate Team cordially invites you to the Coppell Classic, our 20th annual TFA qualifying tournament, January 7-10, 2021. We are so grateful to have an incredibly supportive administration, coaching, and tabulation staff, and we look forward to hosting this event virtually via NSDA Campus.

We offer varsity/open competition in CX, LD, WSD, PF, Congress, and speech events. We will also offer NCX and NLD. Debate will feature 6 preliminary rounds beginning Friday afternoon with late elims on Sunday. Speech events will include 2 prelims and be held entirely on Saturday. All prepared Individual Events will run asynchronously. The tournament will feature TFA and NIETOC qualifying points.

Additionally, we will offer a swing tournament (Coppell 9th). This tournament will feature all asynchronous events that offer NIETOC and TFA qualifying status with 2 prelims and appropriate elims. Be sure to take advantage and enter your asynchronous student at both tournaments.

We promise to provide the best (online) hospitality we can, a relaxed schedule, qualified hired judges in all events, and an efficient tabulation staff with many decades of collective experience.

We are happy to waive entry fees for any UDL program in any events. We will also work with you on combining judging obligations where we are able. Please contact us for more information.

Registration is now open. Wait lists will be available as necessary. The entry deadline is Monday January 4 at 5:00pm Central.
