Event Description:

For Novice event- students will choose between either prose OR poetry for entire day. Contestants will not be obligated or allowed to switch between prose and poetry.

 Students present selections in two categories -- prose and poetry. Each selection must be a maximum of ten minutes in length. The student must hold a manuscript and appear to be reading. The students alternate between rounds of prose and rounds of poetry.

If numbers do not warrant, Novice and Varsity will be combined following the Novice rules.
