Hey, I’m Evie! I’m a HS senior and debated PF as second speaker for nearly two years (but have forgotten a lot of things); this is my first time judging. I will do my best to keep time and will try to give visual warnings at 1 minute and 10 seconds. I start speaks at 28 and give/take accordingly.
I’m tech over truth unless it’s offensive/bigoted. I don’t know how to judge progressive arguments, so run at your own risk. I will pay attention to cross for speaks but I won’t flow cross, so bring things into your speeches.
I’m coming off a wrist injury and flow on paper, so spread at your own risk. Speak clearly! Rudeness will not be tolerated. Talking loudly is alright, borderline screaming and purposefully talking over opponents is not. Respect and basic courtesy goes a long way.
PF: you must flow your arguments through summary in order to bring up their impacts in FF. Weighing is a must. Dropping contentions will not count against you as long as you sufficiently weigh the impacts of what you flow through. Quality > quantity; make sure I can keep track of your impacts and your rationale behind weighing. No new evidence in second summary and beyond, please.
LD: since I have close to no experience, explain your value and value criterion as thoroughly as possible, as well as how your arguments connect to them. Emphasize why you should win in your last speech.
Good luck and have fun!
