Experience in CX, LD and PF with preference for LD. Regarding LD, prefer a more traditional style of debate focusing on value and philosophy. Policy arguments are usually a nonstarter and unlikely to sway.

I am a traditional judge from the old days of the NFL
Debate is an exercise in oral communication. An argument is only effective if it makes it through my ears and brain, down to my fingers, and onto the flow.
I prefer participants to stand when they speak, either in speech or when conducting cross. It is a mark you respect the mental dojo that is a debate round.
Speed kills.
A laptop screen is a barrier to communication. Technical difficulties are distractions worth avoiding,

Traditional judge, I prefer no spreading or Ks. I won't take off for them, but I encourage you not to!
- The easiest way to earn speaks is to clarify the voting issues and prove how and why you outweigh. I'll weigh the round based on the criteria you give me, so be sure to give me a metaphorical rubric!
- I'm a tabula rasa, so I'll vote exactly how you tell me. Hit your framework/V/VCs early and often.
- I like to see claim-warrant-impact. I flow what you say, not what I think you mean.
- Spreading will not affect your speaks, but I prefer conversational speed and good delivery. Quality, not quantity, for arguments.
- Cards should be clearly cited and available for review should there be a conflict over source validity or context. Clipping will not be tolerated.
- Signpost - reference the contention # or subpoint in speeches and CX.
- CX is for questions, not rebuttals.

I am an assistant Speech and Debate coach, but mostly work with Speech events. I know the basics of Debate events, but I am not a pro, so I prefer when debaters speak at slower speed rather than spread.
I'm ok with either progressive or traditional style debate (I'm ok with running K's for the most part)
The most important things are to be kind and have fun :)

I am a debate coach so I am familiar with the topic and the jargon used. I flow the entire round. I do not mind spreading as long as you slow down on the tags and sources. I do keep up with your time, however, you should also keep up with the time of your speeches and prep. I don't mind open CX as long as the person who is suppose to be answering is giving the bulk of the responses.
