Additional remarks: I expect the debate to center on the resolution. The competitors should identify what common ground they have and, ideally, can agree on what the key issue or issues are in the round. If the negative wants to adopt a value, criterion or decision rule, that is one possible way for that to happen. Plans, if used at all, are a means to an end. I have yet to vote for a kritik in my life. Reasoned analysis of how your opponent’s argument is flawed usually carries more weight than any number of cards with little or no analysis. Historical facts carry weight to the extent that they are accurate.
