Additional remarks: I have coached debate for decades and have had teams/students have success at the state, regional, and national levels in Lincoln Douglas debate. Bottom line: Speed is not a problem but should not trade off with clarity. I am a critic of argument. In my mind that means I will evaluate the arguments advanced by students. You may engage in more traditional or progressive approaches to Lincoln Douglas debate as you choose. If the competition is virtual, please slow down a bit and adapt to that environment. Feel free to ask questions before the debate if you have any.
