Cross-Entry Policy

Students entered in LD, PF, and World Schools Debate may cross-enter in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Debaters who choose to cross-enter in another Individual Event do so at their own risk. The tournament will not delay debate rounds or Individual Event rounds to accommodate cross-entries.

CX/Policy Debate competitors may NOT cross-enter in any other event.

Cross-entry between Section A and Section B is permitted. Competitors who cross-enter are responsible for reporting promptly to both events.

Important ONLINE Tournament Policies

This portion of the Lampasas / Bowie Swing will be conducted ONLINE. Competitors and judges are responsible for having reliable internet access and an appropriate device for participating in competition.

Rounds will be accelerated whenever possible. Competitors and judges should remain available online and monitor Tabroom throughout the tournament. Subsequent rounds may begin ahead of the published schedule when possible.

We will NOT break brackets in debate elimination rounds. Students from the same school may therefore be required to debate one another during elimination rounds.

The tournament may adjust elimination rounds based on entry numbers. When an elimination round is unnecessary, the subsequent elimination round may be moved into the earlier scheduled time slot.

The number of elimination rounds required in CX, LD, PF, World Schools, and Extemp will depend on final entry numbers.

For World Schools, the exact elimination structure and use of prepared or impromptu motions will depend on the number of teams advancing.

Because this is an online tournament, competitors and judges should not leave their devices or assume they are finished for the evening until they have confirmed that they have no additional rounds or assignments. All participants should monitor Tabroom closely for pairings, ballots, announcements, and schedule adjustments throughout both evenings.
