ROUND FORFEITURE POLICY
There will be a fifteen minute forfeiture rule following the release of pairings in each event. If competitors fail to notify the tab room that their judge or opponent is missing, after waiting fifteen minutes, both teams will receive a loss for the round. The tournament chairman may, at her discretion, allow the students to hold the round, if doing so will not cause the tournament to run behind schedule. After waiting fifteen minutes, judges must contact tab to request a forfeit. Judges cannot decide to forfeit the round without contacting tab.
Teams may also independently verify with the tab room that the judge submitted the ballot as a forfeiture.
In speech events, late competitors may speak out of order at the discretion of the judge only if doing so will not cause the round to run late. Judges should not allow the round to go longer than an hour and a half without first notifying tab. Judges should not take late arrival as a penalty if the student is double or triple entered. Double and triple entries will be marked for judges on master ballot sheet
