R8  A Resolution to Adopt a National Flat Tax

1. WHEREAS the current national tax system is confusing, complicated and
2. burdensome to most Americans, and
3. WHEREAS the wealthy and those able to hire special expert assistance are able
4. to manipulate the current tax system to their advantage, and
5. WHEREAS the current tax system is extremely unfair, and
6. WHEREAS the massive government bureaucracy needed to manage the
7. current national tax system is costly and inefficient; and
8. WHEREAS a flat tax system would allow for a single federal income rate for all citizens, regardless of level of income,
9. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Student Congress here assembled, that the United States adopts a National Flat Tax; and
10. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the rate of this tax be determined upon further examination of national budget needs.
