NSCTA Nebraska State Debate Championship

Hello Coaches –
The NSCTA State Debate Tournament is March 24 and 25 at Lincoln Southwest High
School. I wanted to send out some preliminary information so you can begin to
prepare for the tournament.
1. Entries -- Each school can bring three PF teams, three CX teams and three
LDers. Each school can also bring six congressional debaters. Entries are due by March 20th. Note – this is a Monday. I will need to have your student’s names for the program at that time. Please try to adhere to this deadline. The Tabroom site is now active.
2. Schedule -- We will begin the tournament, for all events, at 3:30.
However, I would like registration to be done by 2:45. We will have school
until 3:03, but I would like all teams and judges registered and in the
auditorium by 2:45. We will start registration at 2:15. I will send more
logistics about registration as we near the tournament. Please do not arrive at LSW until 2:15.
3. Judges -- Each school will need to cover their judges. If at all possible, please
avoid bringing 1st year out judges. I know that at times it is difficult to avoid
at invitational tournament, but a more experienced judge pool at state is my
4. Congress Bills -- Each school can send up to three congress bills to be
considered for the tournament. Please share these bills by Tuesday,
February 21. I will then send out the bills and a link to the ballot. Please send
each bill on a separate document.
5. NSAA -- In order to compete at the state debate tournament, your school needs
to be registered with the NSAA and have each student in their eligibility
database. If you are not sure if you are registered or if your students are
eligible, please ask your AD or administration.

T-shirts will be delivered to the tournament, but should be ordered online. Please share this link with your students.
