WSD Motions

For Rounds 1 & 2, all teams will debate both sides of the same motion.

R1: Science and technology research can be funded through ‘push’ or ‘pull’ funding. Push funding is used to create new projects, or subsidize them prior to completion (e.g. grants, R&D tax credits). In contrast, pull funding rewards successful creation of an output (e.g. a large prize for whoever creates a given technology). THBT governments should primarily fund research through pull funding rather than push funding
