Logistics for Hybrid Event

Our preference is for debaters and judges to attend "in person." However, teams that can't attend in person are welcome to attend online.

If a round involves one in-person and one online student, with an in-person judge:

The student who is present and the judge will convene in an assigned physical room and join the NSDA Campus site. The debate will then be held via Campus. Because of this possibility, debaters and judges should bring headphones that they can use to avoid sound issues. 

If a round involves two in-person debaters and an online judge:

We will avoid this eventuality as much as possible. If, however, it is unavoidable, the two students will convene in an assigned room and join the NSDA Campus site, and the debate will be held via Campus. An adult or varsity student will be assigned to supervise the room.

If a round involves two online debaters and an in-person judge:

The judge will be assigned a physical room, and then will convene the debate via Campus. 

If a round involves two online debaters and an online judge:

The debate will be assigned to a Campus room and will take place exactly as though it were happening at a fully-virtual tournament.
