Technology Requirements

I advise all participants to have a practice round on Zoom before the tournamentDo not share the Tournament Zoom Link: For the safety and security of the tournament, only share the tournament link to registered coaches, judges, and debaters. Please note that you must login to Zoom using your PASSHE affiliated Zoom account.

Minimum Requirements: All participants should have access to a computer with microphone and video capabilities that can run Zoom or the online platform used by the tournament. It is strongly recommended that participants practice online before the tournament. The issue that impacts video and audio is most often the internet connection, not hardware. All participants should access the tournament from a computer with a reliable internet connection. Depending on COVID protocols, it is recommended that participants compete in the tournament at their home institutions.

Cameras on: For reasons of competitive fairness, accessibility, and to maintain a sense of social interaction, all judges and debaters must keep their cameras on during the conduct of the round.

Microphones muted: All participants who are not an active speaker should mute their microphones.

Practice Makes Perfect: I advise all participants to have a practice round on Zoom before the tournament.

Competitive Integrity: To maintain competitive integrity, during the course of the round debaters should not consult with others (coaches, non-participants, etc) or with outside sources of information not prepared prior to the debate.
