AZNSDA DISTRIST TOURANMENT EVENT INFORMATION

CONGRESSIONAL DEBATE:

1.    All legislation MUST be uploaded to the Tabroom website by Monday, February 28, 2022, at 8:00 p.m.

 

2.    The legislation packet will be available on the Tabroom site no later than Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. provided you do your part and get them in on time and in the correct format.

 

3.    All legislation must be of a legitimate / serious nature and that would fall under Federal jurisdiction.

 

4.    We will NOT retype any legislation. All legislation must meet the format as set forth in the Competition Events Guide - see link below. The legislation MUST be in Word format, double spaced, in 10 or 12 point font, and NOT longer than ONE page.  We will not accept any legislation that is typed in a table or that is a PDF. The NSDA approved templates for bills and resolutions are available on the website.

ORATORY and INFORMATIVE:

1.    Please submit Oratory and Informative Titles on Tabroom.

2.    Additionally, students who compete in Oratory and Informative MUST upload a copy of their speech(es) plus works cited page to the www.turnitin.com website by Thursday, March 10th. If your students have never used Turnitin.com, please click this link for complete instructions.

a.    To upload an ORATORY: Use the Class ID: 33630748 with the Enrollment key: AZOO2022 (Take notice that the Enrollment keys are all caps and no spaces).

b.    To upload an INFORMATIVE: Use the Class ID: 33630785 with the enrollment key: AZINF2022 (Take notice that the Enrollment keys are all caps and no spaces).

3.    Since the oratories will have been submitted to turnitin.com, you only NEED TO SUBMIT the Statement of Authenticity at registration:

      “This original oratory (or informative speech) is the original work of the _______________                      (student’s name) from ______________ (student’s school).

       This oratory (or informative speech) contains _____ (number) of directly quoted words.”

4.    This statement must also be signed by both the student and the coach.

 

INTERP SELECTIONS: DI, HI, POI, & DUO:

1.    Please enter all of your interp information on Tabroom.

2.  In order to prove you have not Frankensteined a script, you must submit 2 copies of your interp script. See instructions below.

3.  Create a Google Folder. Label the folder Interp plus school name ie. (Interp-Mountain View) & share it with Meg Howell-Haymaker.

4.  Upload all of your interp scripts to this one folder.

5.    FIRST COPY OF SCRIPT: You MUST scan and upload to the folder a photocopy of the original interp selection (not a typed copy) with the cutting highlighted.

a.    All added words for transition purposes, MUST be noted on the script in the margin where they occur.

b.    Make sure to include a copy of the title page, the copyright page with ISBN number highlighted, and the table of contents if there is one.

c.     If the selection comes from a novel or a longer literary work, only copy the pages that contain lines used in the students cutting.

d.    Also, make sure to put the student's name, event, and school on the front page. For POI include a complete Works Cited page of every literary selection used in the program.

6.    SECOND COPY OF SCRIPT: You MUST also scan a typed copy of the performance script that has the page numbers (where the line came from) indicated in the margin if the lines or portions of a line are not in the same order in the script. Make sure the student’s name is on the script.
