Elim Results and Sweepstakes

Here is the link to the results of the Elimination rounds for Public Forum, Parliamentary, Policy and Lincoln/Douglas Debates and for Congressional Debate.  You will also see the Sweepstakes awards given to Division 1, 2 and 3 schools.

Per the SCDL Rules, Final round competitors were taken from the top eight from PF and LD after round four and the top eight from Parli after round three.  This final round paired the #1 seed vs #4 seed, #2 seed vs #3 seed, #5 seed vs #8 seed and #6 seed vs #7 seed.  The winners of the top two pairings received a "leg" to state. (see below for the SCDL rules regarding auto-qualifying to State by earning two "legs". Final rank placements is determined by win/loss in the final round and ranking as determined by record, # of ballots, Op win/loss, and points.  The top two ranked in Congressional Debate also earn a "leg". Policy had four teams competing on Saturday so ranks were determined after three rounds.

 

 

Section X Legs

a.      Competitors that receive at least one 1st place trophy and no less than a 2nd place trophy in the same event at the Fall and Spring Varsity IE Tournaments will receive an automatic qualification in that event for that year’s CHSSA State Championship.  (two second places do NOT qualify)

b.      Competitors that receive at least two 2nd place trophies in the same event at the Fall and Spring Varsity Debate Tournaments will receive an automatic qualification in that event for that year’s CHSSA State Championship. 

c.       Competitors that receive at least one 1st place trophy and no less than a 2nd place trophy in the Congress at the Fall and Spring Varsity Debate Tournaments will receive an automatic qualification in that event for that year’s CHSSA State Championship.  (two second places do NOT qualify)
