This year, we will be offering Program Oral Interpretation (POI) as special “free” event to schools interested in trying this relatively new event. Additionally, there will be no judging burden on these entries.

Entry fees: $10 per student per entry

Students may double or triple enter in speech events.

Students may also double enter in one debate event and one speech event (a total of two entries, but – again – only one debate event).

LD will use the November/December LD resolution (posted to the LD event page).

PF will use the November PF resolution (posted to the PF event page).

Congress Legislation: Schools wishing to submit legislation for the bill packet must do so no later than October 28, 2016 at 5 pm. Schools are permitted (but not required to) submit one piece of legislation per each student entered. The bill packet will be posted on this website and emailed to coaches on November 1, 2016.

Extemp and debate events will be permitted to use the Internet. Students must provide their own devices.

1 judge per every 4 speech or congress entries

1 judge per every 2 Lincoln-Douglas entries

1 judge per every 2 Public Forum entries

1 judge per every 2 policy teams

Teams who cannot fulfill their judging obligations will be charged a fee based on the number of uncovered entries. The fee scale is as follows:

$20 per each uncovered speech, congress, PF, or LD entry.

$50 per each uncovered policy entry.

Individual awards will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place competitors in each of the main events.

Individual Sweepstakes will be awarded to the best scoring student who has competed in two or more events.

Team Sweepstakes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best scoring team (accounting for entry size).

Top non-advancing novices will also be recognized in each event- coaches should ensure that they have novice students properly notated on their tabroom competitor roster.

Food will be available for purchase throughout the day in the cafeteria, including breakfast, lunch, and an assortment of snack items. Judges/coaches are invited to enjoy complimentary meals and snacks in our judges lounge.
