2026 Tournament Schedule
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2026
Knowing that World Schools is relatively new to AZ, this year we will use only one prepared motion and two impromptu motion (and announce the impromptu motion 1 hour before Rounds 3 and 4).
This year's prepared motion (Rounds 1, 2, Semifinals, and Finals):
This House believes that artificial intelligence will do more good than harm for workers.
Note that no computers are allowed to be used by competitors inside World Schools prep rooms or Debate Rounds. Nor are coaches allowed to interact with their teams while prepping for the impromptu motion. Students should print their cases for the prepared motion prior to the tournament.

| 7:00-7:30AM | Coach/Judge Registration (Lobby/Library); students should go straight back, not block the Lobby |
| 7:00-7:50AM | Students Lunch Pre-orders Line (Colonnade near Gym); then wait in Cafeteria until 7:50AM |
| 7:25-7:50AM | World Schools Debate Judge Training in Room 111; Ballot Table in Lobby; Judge Lounge in Library |
| 7:50 AM | Students wait in Cafeteria until 7:50AM, then move to Theatre. |

| 8:30 AM | WSD Round 1 - Prepared Motion (WSD Prelims will be predominantly upstairs) Courtesy Rule: No competitor should ever enter a classroom before a judge is present, or while another competitor is speaking. Entering a classroom without a judge is grounds for disqualification. |

| 2:30-3:30PM | Congress on a break while we tabulate several chambers to determine who advances to finals; we can't announce until all chambers are ended and all judges have turned in their ballots. Your patience is appreciated. As soon as we have tabulated, the main hold up is getting judges to pick up their ballots for finals. Please help remind your judges to pick-up their ballots. |
| ~ 3:30PM/3:45PM | Congress Finals Sessions: HS Senate (TOC Bid awarded for Top 6) in Theatre, HS House (Consolation Final) in Room 109, and Middle School Final in 102. We will observe a 6:15PM hard stop close of session. REPORT TO ROUNDS IMMEDIATELY AFTER POSTINGS TO HELP US MAXIMIZE SPEAKING TIMES. Additional time will not be given due to students taking too long to get to the round. Go immediately. |
| 6:15-7:30PM | Watch WSD Finals (Theatre). Your patience is appreciated while we tabulate 3 Congress Finals Chambers (House, Senate, MS) and WSD Finals in order to determine awards at the Awards Ceremony. |

FOOD: SPA will have food on sale for your students, so there is no reason to go hunting and gathering off campus. Students need to pre-order Saturday morning before the Welcome Ceremony.
