Rules

This tournament will followNPDL round rules

All teams have 20 minutes of prep time prior to the round

Internet Policy: Students may also use the internet, computers, and devices, but ONLY during prep time. NO real-time communication or research during the debate is allowed.

Evidence Rule: "In Parliamentary Debate, debaters should primarily rely on logic and general knowledge. They should not cite published sources during the round. Judges should enforce this rule by giving a claim supported by a citation the same weight as they would give a claim not supported by a citation.

Judges may disclose their decision following the round however disclosure is optional. Results will be posted at the tournament’s page on Tabroom.

Speech Times:

Prime Minister Constructive (PMC): 7 minutes

Leader of Opposition Constructive (LOC): 8 minutes

Member of Government Constructive (MGC): 8 minutes

Member of Opposition Constructive (MOC): 8 minutes

Leader of Opposition Rebuttal (LOR): 4 minutes

Prime Minister Rebuttal (PMR): 5 minutes

There is no preparation time between speeches. There is no grace period at the end of speeches.
