Rules, Docket, and Schedule

TOURNAMENT RULES:

All events will adhere to NSDA and MHSAA rules. Where any difference or inconsistency exists between the two, MHSAA Rules will control. All questions or disputes concerning tournament rules should be brought to the tournament director, Brett Harvey (601-613-5780, brett.harvey@msstate.edu). The decision of the director shall be final.

CONGRESS LEGISLATION

The congress docket will consist of bills designated in the MHSAA 2024-25 Bill Book, which is linked on the main tournament page. Specific legislation will be:

Prelim Session 1- C, L, P, U

Prelim Session 2- F, J, M, Q

Finals- B, H, N, S

Any non-Mississippi school may submit up to two pieces of legislation for consideration by emailing a copy to the tournament director prior to the entry deadline.

FRIDAY JANUARY 16 - Debate and Congress

1:30 PM - Registration Opens in Colvard Student Union, 1st Floor

2:30 PM - Judge Assembly and Instructions in McCool Hall 128

3:00 PM - Round 1 PF/LD/CX; Congress Session 1 Begins

4:00 PM - Round 2 PF/LD

4:45 PM - Round 2 CX

5:30 PM - Round 3 PF/LD; Congress Session 1 Ends

6:30 PM - Round 3 CX; Congress Session 2 Begins

7:00 PM - Round 4 PF/LD

8:30 PM - Round 5 PF/LD; Round 4 CX

9:00 PM - Congress Session 2 Ends

SATURDAY JANUARY 17 - Individual Events, Debate and Congress Elims

8:00 AM - Congress Final Session Begins

8:30 AM - Quarterfinals (or Semis) PF/LD, Finals CX

9:00 AM - Round 1, Flight A

10:00 AM - Congress Finals End

10:30 AM - Round 1, Flight B

11:30 AM - Semifinals (or Finals) PF/LD

12:00 PM - Round 2, Flight A

1:30 PM - Round 2, Flight B

2:30 PM - Finals PF/LD

3:00 PM - Semifinals, Flight A
