Food & Meals

As you plan for the Tarheel Forensic League State Championship at UNC–Chapel Hill (March 21–22), please note the following food and meal expectations for the weekend.

No concessions will be provided.
There will not be a concessions stand available at the tournament. Teams and individuals should plan accordingly by bringing snacks and refillable water bottles, and by making independent meal plans. Also, please remember that UNC will be on Spring Break, so on-campus dining options may be limited. We will share a list of what is open as we receive final confirmation from UNC.

Lunch & Dinner Options

Saturday, March 21

  • Lunch (on your own)
    • Teams/individuals are responsible for their own lunch on Saturday.
    • You are welcome to order food for delivery to campus(teams should coordinate delivery logistics and timing with their students/judges).
    • We will provide a list of on-campus options that are open, but please plan with the understanding that availability may be limited due to Spring Break.
    • Students will have scheduled time that can be used to walk to Franklin Streetfor additional options.
  • Dinner (on your own)
    • All rounds are scheduled to conclude by approximately 7:00–7:30 PM, so schools should be able to leave campus and take students to dinner.
    • There will be no dinner options available on campus Saturday evening, so please plan to dine off campus.

Sunday, March 22

  • Lunch (on your own, with one additional option)
    • Sunday lunch is the same expectation as Saturday: teams/individuals are responsible for their own lunch, with potentially limited on-campus options due to Spring Break.
    • However, on Sunday - Chase Dining Hall will be open from 11:00 AM–3:00 PMas a convenient on-campus option.
      • Cost: $16.75 + tax
      • Schools may pre-order on Tabroom under “Add-Ons & Shirt Sizes

No Meals for Judges

The Judges’ Lounge will only have light snacks, coffee, tea, beverages. There will not be meal service during the tournament.

We appreciate your help in setting students up for success by planning ahead—especially given Spring Break dining limitations and the absence of concessions. More details (including the list of open dining locations) will be shared as soon as UNC confirms final hours and availability.
