Golden Desert District Qualifier

for the 2026 National Tournament

Qualification Levels

• Speech & Non-Congress Debate:

• We must have 2+ schools competing in any event in order to qualify competitors.

• 4-29 entries= 2 National Qualifiers

• 30-49 entries= 3 National Qualifiers

• 50+ entries= 4 National Qualifiers

• Congressional Debate:

• Senate: A minimum of 6 schools and 10 competitors must participate in the Senate in order to qualify 2 Senators.

• Each school may enter up to 2 senators.

• To count as an entry in Senate, the competitor must speak at least once during the first round of competition.

• House: 

• 16-29 entries= 2 National Qualifiers

• 30-58= 4 National Qualifiers

• 59-87= 6 National Qualifiers

• 88-116= 7 National Qualifiers

• To count as an entry in Congress, the competitor must speak at least once during the first round of competition.

• This tournament is open, which means it does not affect students' ability to remain in JV next year. We strongly encourage entering your JV and seasoned novices in Districts.
