for the 2026 National Tournament

Judging Obligations

Judge Requirements

• In line with many tournaments we will be asking for

• 1 Interp/Platform judge per 6 entries

• 1 Debate judge per 2 entries

For this qualifier season, we will be asking teams to owe us x amount of preliminary rounds per entry. A Round counts if the judge is present, regardless of whether they are assigned a round. Teams will be able to designate which judges are fulfilling the rounds owed for the district tournament.

Coaches can be counted for rounds & are eligible for pay one requirements per school is met.

Debate Judges will need to fulfill 4 Preliminary Rounds (Double flight would translate to 2 rounds)

Interp Judges will need to fulfill: 3 preliminary rounds

For example:

• 10 interpreters would require 6 Rounds

• This could be assigned as 1 judge picking up 6 rounds (must be available the entire tournament, and second judge would be eligible for payment right away)

• If you bring 6 judges, after round 1, they would all be eligible to be paid

• 4 Debaters would require 8 Rounds

• A single Judge available for prelims (4 prelims or 2 flighted) Would then be eligible to be paid in out for future rounds

• Or if you brought 4 judges, after a flighted round, 1 they would all be eligible to be paid
