The National Speech & Debate Association is committed to providing its participants, judges, coaches, and staff the opportunity to pursue excellence in their endeavors. This opportunity can exist only when each member of our community is assured an atmosphere of mutual respect. The NSDA prohibits all forms of harassment and discrimination. Accordingly, all forms of harassment and discrimination, whether written or oral, based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by any applicable federal, state, or local law are prohibited, whether committed by participants, judges, coaches, or observers. Individuals who are found to have violated this policy will be subject to the full range of sanctions, up to and including removal from the tournament premises.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Any tournament attendee who believes that they have been harassed or discriminated against may complete this form to report the alleged violation. After the form is submitted, the tournament Belonging and Inclusion Advocate will contact the individual who filed the concern and conduct a discussion concerning the grievance(s) in the form. After the discussion, the Belonging and Inclusion Advocate will investigate the allegations in the concern, including speaking to parties involved and impacted. After the investigation is complete, the Belonging and Inclusion Advocate will make a referral to the District Committee about the findings and recommended course(s) of action. All parties impacted will be notified of this decision upon its completion.
While we do ask for name and contact information, those questions are * totally optional * and you can exclude that information if there is something you would like to anonymously report.That said, if you would like our Belonging and Inclusion Advocate to follow up with you as part of the investigation, we need you to please include your full contact information.
The Belonging and Inclusion Advocate, as well as the Sierra District Committee and National Speech and Debate Association, will keep the information disclosed as confidential as possible. Please be aware: ethically, the BIA and District Committee are required to take appropriate action and notify authorities if students engage in behavior that presents clear and imminent danger to themselves or others, in the case of known or suspected child abuse or neglect, or in the case of known or suspected sexual violence.
