ENTRY LIMITATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
·Entries are limited to 6 per school in each event; 8 in CX and 8 in LD debate. We only offer varsity debate divisions. However, many students are typically novices competing in varsity by this time of year.
·The first 24 CX entries and 36 LD entries will be accepted.
·Additional entries may be accepted based upon space availability.
·We will use the 2023-24 UIL Topic for CX Debate.
·We will use the 2024 UIL Spring Topic for LD.
·No additions at registration.
·Drops at registration will be charges and additional fee of 2x the entry fees. Send in information as soon as possible.
·Judge who fail to show up to collect ballots will be removed from the pool and schools will be charge at a reasonable search is made.
·Prose and poetry competitors must have BOTH selections prepared. Documentation will not be required.
·Policy debaters may enter ONLY CX debate.
·Debate begins promptly at 8:00 AM.If your school is not registered by 7:40 AM, your teams may have to forfeit the first round.
·Brackets will not be broken in debate.
·Students wishing to enter both academic and forensic events must check times closely to be sure there is no conflict.
2025-2026 CX Debate Topic:
Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.
2026 Spring UIL LD Debate Topic:
Resolved: Developing countries ought to prioritize globalization over protectionism.
