Perry Tyner Tate Memorial

As many of you know, each year we award the Perry Tyner Tate Memorial Award, which is given to a student who has overcome some form of adversity in order to achieve success in the world of Speech and Debate. Perry was a member of our Class of 2007, joining us during her senior year after having competed for Clinton High School through her junior year, and passed away in January of 2013 just shy of the age of 24. Nominations are evaluated by a committee of coaches from throughout the Southeast and by the coaching staff at St. Andrew's Episcopal School. If you have a student who has had struggles they have surmounted in order to have success in this activity, please consider nominating them for this award. In addition to the award itself, the tournament makes a donation, augmented by Perry's family, to one of a list of charitable organizations important to Perry's life. We genuinely hope you will take the time to nominate a member of your squad for this award.
