Judging Requirements

DCI - 3 rounds of prelim judging per odd entry, 2 per even entry. A single full-time judge covers 2 DCI teams. We will use MPJ in the DCI division. Any individual contributing to the competitive success of a DCI team should be entered in the judge pool before the tournament for at least 2 prelim debates.

Everything else - We are slightly smaller in size this year, and the tournament is likely larger in size. We ask that each team provide one full-time equivalent judge to help cover all non-DCI divisions. We are happy to mark this individual substitute only on the back end of tabroom. Please indicate this request in the notes section when registering your judge. We hope not to use these adults, and will do our best to refrain from doing so. We are likely willing to trade a HS student judge instead of an Adult judge. Just let us know! Or frankly waive it if your sponsor/adult is judging DCI.

PLEASE consider sending your advanced students to judge the novice divisions.


Some of the judges in the novice divisions will be HS seniors from LFS who have taken 2+ AP/Dual Credit Courses, and are either enrolled in my college public speaking course or in NHS.
