HS Tournaments - WS Prepared Motions for Spring 2025

For HS Tournament 4, February 8:

As the United State government, this House would remove the ban on using affirmative action policies in higher education admissions.

Students will debate both sides of this motion and will also have two impromptu rounds with abbreviated prep.

HS Tournament 5, March 1:

This House would remove tax exempt status from religious organizations and institutions.

Students will debate both sides of this motion and will also have two impromptu rounds with abbreviated prep.

HS City Championship, April 12:

This House supports government control of the manufacturing and sale of essential medicines.

Info: Essential medicines are those that effectively and safely treat the priority healthcare needs of the population. They include those that are needed for patients in acute care medical facilities, which specialize in short-term treatment for severe injuries or illnesses, and urgent medical conditions.

Students will debate both sides of this motion and one of the other two prepared motions in prelims. There will also be an impromptu motion. Elim rounds that have prepared motions can use any of the three from this semester.
