JCFL Qualifiers for Grand Nationals

Friday-Saturday, February 7-8, 2025

at Jackson Preparatory School

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2025

3:45 pm - registration for Debate begins at Jesse L. Howell Library in McRea building

4:15 pm - student meeting in Student Lounge (Dining Commons)

4:15 pm - Judge & Coach meeting in Judge / Coach Lounge (Jesse L. Howell Library)

4:30 pm - ALL rounds of ALL Debate begin (Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum Debate, & Policy)

subsequent debate rounds will be posted in tabroom.com as soon as pairings available

there will be a short dinner break after Round 2

(food will be available for purchase by competitors in the Student Lounge)

(a full dinner will be served to Judges & Coaches in the Jesse L. Howell Library)

Friday night will PROBABLY* include five (5) rounds of Lincoln-Douglas debate,

five (5) rounds of Public Forum debate, and four (4) rounds of Policy debate

all rounds after Round 2 will be lag power pairings*

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2024

7:30 am - registration for Speech / Performance Events begins at Jesse L. Howell Library

(food will be available for purchase by competitors in the Student Lounge)

(breakfast will be served to Judges & Coaches in the Jesse L. Howell Library)

8:00 am - Extemp prep begins for Round 1

8:30 am - Round 1 of Individual Speech / Performance Events

10:00 am - Extemp prep begins for Round 2

10:30 am - Round 2 of Individual Speech / Performance Events

(food will be available for purchase by competitors in the Student Lounge)

(lunch will be served to Judges & Coaches in the Jesse L. Howell Library)

noon - Extemp prep begins for “semifinals”

12:30 pm - “semifinals” of Individual Speech / Performance Events (no “final” round)

2:00 pm-ish - Congressional Debate postings announced via tabroom.com

2:30 pm - Session 1 of Congressional Debate begins (hard stop at 4:30 pm)

5:00 pm - Session 2 of Congressional Debate (hard stop at 6:30 pm)

5:30 pm - Coaches’ Meeting in Judge / Coach Lounge (Jesse L. Howell Library)

7:00 pm-ish - Awards Ceremony

students & judges should remain in their respective areas

and be ready to proceed to assigned competition rooms

as soon as rounds are posted / blasted via tabroom.com

*TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MODIFY ROUNDS & TIMES AS NECESSARY
