Original Spooky Story

Join us around the campfire and share your Spookiest ORIGINAL Story! Below are some performance guidelines as you prepare your piece.

Criteria: In Original Scary Storytelling (OSS), students must create an original piece that would be APPROPRIATE to tell around the family camp campfire! Time limit is 5 min with 30 sec grace. If a performer goes past the grace period, they CANNOT be ranked first.

Props: Students will be provided with a chair and a flashlight which they can use at their discretion. Lights in the room may also be dimmed for added effect.

This is a solo performance, teams are not permitted and shouldn’t be entered as such.

➔ An Introduction should be presented in the performance. This should explain background information and necessary characters!
➔ Title should be said in intro. Author is not necessary as it should be original.

➔ The student is encouraged to use movements and blocking to enhance their presentation!
➔ Piece must be originally written by the competitor! Unoriginal scary storytellings is subject to disqualification.
➔ Plagiarism is a BIG BIG NO!!! Any plagiarism can and will result in disqualification
